TotK Star Fragments can be spotted from the ground or sky at night. You’ll notice a golden light beam signaling their location rising up from the ground, as shown in my in-game image above. You’ll need to reach the Star Fragment location and pick it up by 5 a.m., or it’ll disappear. You can sit by a fire or cooking station to fast-forward to night if you’re keen on finding them.

You can spot Star Fragments more easily by moving to high vantage points like mountain peaks, low Sky Islands, or Skyview Towers. I even managed to catch one mid-air while gliding between Sky Islands, but this is definitely the more challenging way to go. Although, it’s a pretty magical feeling to see a Star falling past you — then catch it.

How to Use TotK Star Fragments

Tears of the Kingdom Star Fragments can help you make some profit, or you can make some glowing combos utilizing the new Fuse ability. Once you catch a fallen star, here’s how you can use it:

  • Sell it for 200 Rupees.
  • Trade it to upgrade armor sets at a Great Fairy.
  • Fuse it with a weapon to shoot illuminated stars, which is useful in large dark areas like the Depths.
  • Fuse it with a shield to illuminate your surroundings while wearing it.

That’s it for our guide on how to find and use Star Fragments in Tears of the Kingdom. We wouldn’t recommend finding these as part of the best Rupee farms, but they can fetch you a pretty penny if you have extra. For more tips and walkthroughs, visit our Zelda: TotK guides hub.
