Finesse Weapons are a specific set in game that are great on classes like Rogues who don’t use Strength when attacking. So, here are the top 10 best Finesse Weapons in Baldur’s Gate 3, ranked.

Finesse means that the weapon scales on Dexterity instead of Strength, making them more useful for classes aside from Barbarians and Fighters.

1. Bloodthirst

Bloodthirst is a Legendary Dagger that drops from Orin in Act 3. It doesn’t deal much damage upfront, but it’s a great off-hand option with its Improved Critical Strike bringing the number you need from 20 to 19 to get a Critical Hit. As an off-hand, it also gives you True Strike Riposte which lets you retaliate when a creature misses you with a melee attack and you gain True Strike. If you use it as a main attack, enemies gain Vulnerability to Piercing Damage when you hit them.

2. Crimson Mischief

Crimson Mischief is the Legendary Shortsword that drops from Orin in Act 3. It deals an extra 1d4 Psychic Damage against enemies with less than 50% health. In your main hand, it deals an extra 7 Damage when you attack with Advantage. In your off-hand, you can add your Ability Modifier as extra damage to your attacks with the weapon.

3. Selûne’s Spear of Night

Earned at the end of the Gauntlet of Shar if Nightsong is saved, the Spear of Night gives you Advantage on Wisdom Saving Throws and Perception Checks. You also gain free uses of Darkvision, Moon Mote, and Moonbeam. As a Legendary Spear, it’s not only among the best Finesse Weapons, but the best overall Weapons in the game.

4. Shar’s Spear of Evening

The opposite of Selûne’s Spear, this is earned if you kill Nightsong instead of saving her in the Gauntlet of Shar. Shar’s Spear of Evening is also a Legendary Spear, but it gives you Advantage on Saving Throws when you’re lightly or heavily Obscured. You deal an additional 1d6 to enemies that are lightly or Heavily Obscured. And finally, you cannot be blinded and get a free cast of Shar’s Darkness.

5. Duellist’s Prerogative

A Legendary Rapier, you get Duellist’s Prerogative as a reward from “Save Vanra” in Act 3. If your off-hand is empty, you only need a 19 to get a Critical Hit and you get an extra reaction each turn. You can use your reaction to deal Necrotic Damage on a hit that’s equal to your Proficiency Bonus. Challenge to Duel makes an enemy attack only you and inflicts Bleed. And finally, Dueller’s Enthusiasm lets you make an extra attack with the Dueller.

6. Shortsword of First Blood

Found in the Underdark, the Shortsword of First Blood deals an extra 1d8 Piercing Damage to enemies who have full health. Since it’s available at the end of Act 1, it’s not as strong as the Legendary Weapons above it. But it’s a nice early boost going into Act 2, especially if you’re a Rogue or have Astarion as a regular in your party. The high Initiative Rogues have makes it perfect since they’ll likely attack first in combat and benefit the most from the extra damage.

7. Adamantine Scimitar

The Adamantine Scimitar is another item from Act 1 in the Underdark. However, it’s a bit harder to get because you need to get the materials and craft it yourself at Grymforge. Hits against objects are always Critical. Against enemies, however, you get to ignore Slashing Resistance with this scimitar, which can be a nice damage boost depending on the enemies you’re fighting.

8. Sword of Screams

You’ll get this rapier in, that’s right, the Underdark. It drops from True Soul Nere in Grymforge, and it might be one of the easiest to get on this list since you can just let him die and loot it from him after. The unique characteristic that puts this weapon on the list is the extra 1d4 Psychic Damage it deals every attack, which is a nice bonus to have every hit.

9. Speedy Reply

Possibly the earliest weapon you can get on this list, Speedy Reply is found on one of the bodies on the Risen Road in Act 1. It has 1d6 Slashing Damage and hits give you Momentum for 2 Turns. Momentum is a condition that gives you 3m extra Movement Speed, but it’s removed when Restrained, Incapacitated, Prone, or Slowed.

10. Sussur Sickle/Dagger

The Sussur Sickle and Sussur Dagger are listed together because they have the same bonus and you can choose which one you want to make as your Masterwork Weapon at Blighted Village. Both weapons Silence enemies on hit, which can be great against spellcasters. However, the damage is lackluster with a 1d4 on the Dagger and 1d4+1 on the Sickle.
