How to Complete the Mistress of the Dark Challenge in BitLife

Like most live challenges, you have five tasks to take care of to finish Mistress of the Dark:

  • Be born a female.
  • Own a haunted mansion in Massachusetts.
  • Own a poodle named Algonquin.
  • Survive a paranormal attack.
  • Summon 2+ ghosts.

Be Born a Female

Start a custom life and pick female as your gender. Then, since the second task requires you to be in Massachusetts, select United States > Boston as your birthplace. You don’t have to, but it saves you from needing to move or emigrate later.

Own a Haunted Mansion in Massachusetts

You don’t need a specific career, but you’ll need a big chunk of money to buy a mansion. I went with acting using the Actor Job Pack since TV shows can net you millions each year if you land a good role. Then, you want to purchase a mansion. BitLife isn’t very specific regarding what it considers a mansion for challenges. I purchased a Haunted Castle because I figured that must count as a mansion. It checked off the task as complete.

However, in other challenges there were times that property like a villa didn’t count as a mansion despite its high price and larger size. As a result, getting a high paying job helps since you can keep purchasing haunted properties until this is marked as done.

Own a Poodle Named Algonquin

Owning a poodle doesn’t cost much. Go to Activities > Pets and either go to the Animal Shelter to see if they have a poodle, or go to a Dog Breeder and choose poodle. When you select the poodle, you get a prompt to change its name. Simply type in “Algonquin” and confirm your choice.

Survive a Paranormal Attack

Since you have a haunted mansion, go to Assets > Properties > Spirits and choose a spirit. You have the option to exorcise or try summoning it. Select Summon. If it works, Insult the ghost to try making it attack you. If it does and you live, this task is completed. You can keep trying to summon ghosts, and it might take several tries before it works. The unfriendlier a ghost is, the more likely it’ll attack you.

Summon 2+ Ghosts

And finally, you need to summon two or more ghosts. Given the previous task, you’ll probably complete this in the process. Keep going to Assets > Properties > Spirits and trying to summon them. If you’ve already survived an attack, then you can choose to stay calm or another option if the ghost appears. You could still insult them, but after one attack, you don’t need to provoke another one. You just need the ghosts to be successfully summoned.

Then, that finishes the last task you need for how to complete the Mistress of the Dark Challenge in BitLife. The new Halloween theme for the game gets you in the spooky spirit, and this challenge feels fitting as we approach the 31st.
