Captain Boomerang is the glass cannon of the bunch, sporting high damage and mobility. Maining King Shark and playing Harley Quinn, it took me some time to get used to Boomerang’s traversal mechanics and combat style. If you do, too, do what I did and practice around the Hall of Justice.
Boomerang has several maneuvering options with his Speed Force Boomerang teleport for distance, up to three quick short-distance teleports, and the Speed Force Sprint. This makes him the fastest character in the game on the ground with decent maneuverability in the air with teleport dashes.
As for damage, he’s extremely versatile since he can effectively wield both short-range and long-range weapons. Here are his talent trees:
- Shoot ’Em Up: His first talent tree focuses on both high Shotgun damage at close range but also Sniper Rifles for powerful shots at long range.
- Boomin’ Boomerangs: Boosts his close-range damage, shields, and shield recovery.

The base ability of Shoot ’Em Up gives Captain Boomerang a powerful ability, where he has a 25% chance to instantly reload his shotgun after he kills an enemy with it. Considering how he can teleport in and out of areas, I use this to get quick, devastating hits on enemies. Trigger Man is another staple that helps me get reliable crits that can down enemies quickly. Here are all the talents:

- Jackpot: Activates at x5 Combo and higher and increases Firearm damage by 20% and Critical Counters have a 50% chance to make enemies Shield Harvestable.
- Shoot ’Em Up Tier 2 Talents
- Goin’ Hunting: Melee hits cause enemies to take 50% more damage from Firearms for 10 seconds.
- Boomsticks Increases Shotgun damage by 10% and Shield Harvest chance by 10%.
- Shoot ’Em Up Tier 3 Talents
- Triggerman: At x10 Combo and higher, Critical Reloads with SMGs generate 3 Combo which can only happen once every 15 seconds.
- Shotgunner: At x10 Combo and higher, Shield Harvest chance is increased by 25% on Shotgun Hits.

- Fan-Favorite Boomerang: Successful Counters generate 3 Combo.Cheap Shot Boomerang: Critical Reloads increase the damage of your next Firearm Magazine by 15%.

- Bulletproof: At x20 Combo and higher, Shield Capacity is increased by 10% for each enemy within 10 meters up to a maximum of 50%.

- Sucker Punch: At x30 Combo and higher, 50% of the damage from the last 5 Critical Hits are added to your next Melee hit.

- Hater Aid: Shotgun damage is increased by 10% for each enemy within 10 meters.
- Bleeding Edge: At Combo x30 and higher, successful Counters have a 100% chance to cause the enemy to Bleed for 150% of your equipped weapon’s Critical Hit damage over 10 seconds.

- Trickster: Transforms Jackpot into Trickster which activates at Combo x40 and higher and increases damage dealt by 100%, but also increases damage taken by 25%.Real Big Numbers: Increases maximum Combo by 20 and if the Combo Breaker triggers at 20x Combo and higher, you regenerate 20 Combo. This can only happen once every 60 seconds.
- Brilliance: Transforms Jackpot into Brilliance which activates at Combo x40 and higher and increases Damage Reduction by 40% and Shield Overcharge by 75%.
- Party Supplies: Melee hits have a 50% chance to spawn Grenade ammo or Shield pickups but Melee cooldown is increased by 2 seconds.
- Rubbernecker: Critical Reloads with Sniper Rifles increase the damage of your next Sniper Rifle shot by 50%.

Boomin’ Boomerangs’ base ability increases Boomerang’s damage to enemies within 10 meters by 2% every 3x Combo. The talents by tier are as follows:

- King Hits: Melee hits put enemies into Slow-Motion for 5 seconds but Melee cooldown is increased by 2 seconds.High Tolerance: At x5 Combo and higher, Shield pickup amount is increased by 15% and Shield Overcharge by 25%.

- Suicide Strike: Unlocks Boomerang’s Suicide Strike.
