Best Watering Pals for Farming in Palworld

You'll need a team of proficient Pals for farming in Palworld. Here are the best Watering Pals for the job.

Watering is an essential part of the farming process. When you’re putting together a team of Base Pals, you should consider which Water-types sport the highest-level Suitability trait for the job. To save you the trouble, I’ve put together a list of the best Watering Pals for farming in Palworld.

Celaray

When you’re just starting to build your base in Palworld, Celaray makes a great Watering Pal. While its Work Suitability for this task is only sitting at Level 1, it gets the job done. You could substitute this Water-type with other early-game options like Pengullet as well. In any case, complementary passive skills like Serious or Artisan can make up for lacking proficiency by increasing work speed.

Surfent

Surfent is one of the best early-game Watering Pals that you can get in Palworld. Its Work Suitability for Watering is Level 2, so it’s able to handle much more than starter Pals like Pengullet. It’s first available to catch in the lake near Bamboo Groves, just a short distance from the Ravine Entrance fast travel point. Many can be found around Level 15. They attack on sight, though, so be prepared for a fight.

Penking

Similarly, Penking also sports a Level 2 Work Suitability for Watering among other skills like Mining and Gathering. I was lucky enough to hatch mine from a Large Damp Egg, but you’ll also find this Water/Ice-type as a field boss. Like Surfent, it spawns at Level 15. Since it’s a boss, however, it won’t attack unless provoked.

Jormuntide

Jormuntide is one of the very last pals you’ll gain access to in Palworld, appearing as a Level 45 field boss. That said, you’ll have to make it to the late game to catch it, but the effort is totally worth it for this Water-type Pal. It has Level 4 Work Suitability for Watering — the only Pal with this stat in the Early Access version of the game.

Azurobe

Before you can catch Jormuntide, Azurobe is one of the best Watering Pals available in Palworld. One of just a few Water-type Pals with Level 3 Work Suitability for Watering, it’s able to handle this task efficiently. Fortunately, it’s found fairly early on near the Ravine Entrance fast travel point. There, it spawns as a Level 23 field boss.

Broncherry Aqua

Like Azurobe, Broncherry’s Aqua variant also boasts Level 3 Work Suitability for Watering. It’s even found in roughly the same location, just a short walk in the opposite direction from the Ravine Entrance fast travel point. I made it my mission to capture both field bosses when I first unlocked this area, and they’ve proven to be some of the strongest Water-types in the game overall.

Relaxaurus

Yet another Pal found nearby the Ravine Entrance fast travel point, Relaxaurus is a reliable Water/Dragon-type with Level 2 Work Suitability for Watering. While it’s not quite as proficient as Broncherry Aqua or Azurobe, it’s certainly easier to obtain. You can catch it around Level 17 or so. If you’re lucky, you might even be able to hatch it from a Large Damp Egg.

Gobfin

Gobfin also sports Level 2 Work Suitability for Watering. However, it’s not very easy to get your hands on in the early stages of Palworld unless you manage to hatch one from a Damp Egg. Otherwise, you’ll need to make it to the mid-game first. At that point, you’ll be glad you were able to unlock guns beforehand, as these ferocious Water-types tend to travel in packs and attack on sight.

Elphidran Aqua

Elphidran Aqua is one of my personal favorite Watering Pals in Palworld. It boasts Level 3 Work Suitability for this job, making it a reliable mid- to late-game option to keep your farm running smoothly back at your base. The only obstacle here is getting one, since it can’t actually be caught in the wild. Instead, you’ll need to breed a standard Elphidran with Surfent to obtain the Water/Dragon offspring.

Suzaku Aqua

In the same vein, you won’t find any wild Suzaku Aqua in Palworld. To obtain one of these Water-type Pals, you’ll have to breed Jormuntide with a standard Suzaku. The catch is the offspring sports Level 3 Work Suitability for Watering, which obviously isn’t as good as Jormuntide’s Level 4 suitability. If you’re a fan of this Pal, though, it’s still a great option.

After a ton of experimenting at my own base, I’ve found that these are the best Watering Pals in Palworld. While a Pal’s Work Suitability can tell you which jobs it can perform, be sure to check for beneficial Passive skills, too. Even Pals with lesser proficiency can be up to the task with innate stat boosts.
