Some ingredients you need for the Dawning 2023 in Destiny 2 are quite hard to come by while obtaining others is relatively straightforward. If you’re looking for the best way to get Balanced Flavors this year, I have good news. You don’t have to jump through too many hoops.

To get Balanced Flavors during The Dawning 2023, you need to defeat any enemy with Bows, Sniper Rifles, Pulse Rifles, or Scout Rifles. Not as easy as farming Ether Cane. These enemies can be as tough as bosses or as weak as a base-level Dreg. You need to use weapons that aren’t exactly in-meta for PvE. However, there are some top-tier weapons you’ll want to either have or level up so you can get to baking those cookies faster.

Best Weapons to Use to Get Balanced Flavors

  • The BXR-55 Battler from Dares of Eternity
  • Doom of Chelchis from King’s Fall
  • Trustee from Deep Stone Crypt
  • The Wish-Ender Exotic from the Forsaken Pack
  • Brya’s Love from Season of the Witch
  • Dead Man’s Tale from Presage
  • The Jade Rabbit Exotic
  • The Bad Juju Exotic
  • The Outbreak Perfected Exotic
  • The Le Monarque Exotic
  • The Graviton Lance Exotic

Those weapons are just the few that immediately come to mind. If you have other Scout or Pulse Rifles, Bows, or Sniper Rifles you’d prefer using, by all means, use them.

How to Farm Balanced Flavors in The Dawning 2023

As usual, the best places to farm kills for Balanced Flavors in Destiny 2 are the activities where there are an infinite amount of easy-to-defeat enemies. For me, those are the Altars of Sorrow on the Moon and the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon opening encounter. I also suggest just farming Dregs as much as possible in these locations.

Altars is great for both free-to-play players and veterans who want a little less controlled chaos. If you own the 30th Anniversary Pack, which you should for Gjallarhorn and the Dungeon (both are great), you can farm an infinite number of Hive enemies and get infinite ability kills on top of it. I can confirm that despite being mindless, this is a much easier method than what you’ll have to do for Perfect Taste.

I only played a single Strike (the Lightblade) and barely focused on getting kills with my Trustee and managed two Balanced Flavors. If you stand at the loot cave entrance in Grasp or focus solely on defeating mobs in Altars of Sorrow with a Scout, Pulse, Bow, or Sniper, I imagine you’ll get plenty of ingredients in no time.
